Welcome to the
North End Church of Hope

When our time on  Earth is through and we stand face-to-face with Jesus, He's not going to ask us what denomination our church was. He's either going to say, "Well done good and faithful servant," or "Depart from me.  I never knew you."

This is why The North End Church of Hope is not affiliated with a denomination.  We are a group of mostly street folks who got together and decided to come to know Jesus in a way directed by the Holy Spirit specifically for us with our unique needs.  As a result, He has led us to a very non-traditional format!

Our Pastor is ordained and has been sharing Jesus in the streets in various capacities for 25 years. When she offered to help us form our very own church and encouraged us to break away from regular church traditions in order to better suit our unique needs, we excitedly said, "Yes!" We incorporated in the state of Connecticut as an official church on May 24, 2023.

We meet each Sunday in the local soup kitchen with a "no preacher, no pulpit... just cake, coffee and conversation" format. Our pastor and facilitators avoid speaking "Christianese", which is the practice of speaking in biblical language that many of us are not familiar with and simply don't understand. We have conversations about God and base everything strictly on the Bible. This is an atmosphere that strongly encourages asking questions,  sharing challenges and triumphs, and encouraging one another with the love of Jesus.

We also spend time together engaging in wholesome social activities away from the streets and campsites. We  have barbeques (lots of them!), and we go leaf peeping up north, bowling, to the movies and more. We also engage in volunteer opportunities within the community. It's great to be "on the other side of the table" during food and coat giveaways!

Our funding comes from people who see what we do and who wish to support our activities in the community.  If you would like to support us, please fill out the Contact Form.

What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is completely infallible, without contradiction and is the inspired word of God.

We believe Jesus came to earth as fully God and fully man. He was crucified for us and then raised from the dead to ascend to the Father (God.)  He did this to rescue us from our sin nature and to assure us a place with Him and our Father in heaven.

We believe Jesus loves us more than we can even begin to imagine and that He wants to show us how our lives can be transformed.  He uses His Holy Spirit to provide guidance and direct our steps so we can learn to live the life He has planned for us.
